A new hobby

The wheel rotated,

She felt the clay beneath her hands as she formed it into a shape. A look of concentration on her face.

Her new hobby surrounded her in the small workshop. It consumed most of her spare time as well. She smiled, wiggling her shoulders when the music became more upbeat.

Hazel finished up with the jug and turned the wheel off. She put it next to the other nearly finished clay objects. Then as she stretched she could hear something outside. She went to turn off the music. That’s when the background noise intensified. The neighborhood was once again in the middle of a news story.

‘strange’, Hazel thought to herself. They sounded much too close to her house…

That’s when there was a knock at the front door….
