An Explorer’s Ear

Her ears were surrounded by the noises of nature.
The humming of the bees
The twittering of the various birds
The croaking of the frogs
The huffing of a dog
And the swishing of the wind in the trees
She sighed and continued to walk.
Her camera hanging around her neck and a pouch around her waist
She thought of herself as an explorer
The world opened up around her
The forest in one direction and the ocean somewhere hidden behind several rocks
She walked further
Maybe she should have explored another day
For now, she was lost!
She could hear the sounds drifting away, the further she went
Soon it was silent….
